Hammock Pleasures-The Perfect Summer Drink
On these hot summer days there is nothing better than relaxing in your hammock with a cold, refreshing beverage in your hand. Check out these quick drink ideas for making your afternoons wonderfully comfortable.
Berry Lemonade
1. Prepare your favorite lemonade mix, or if you prefer, make fresh lemonade from scratch.
2. Add 1 ½ cups of your favorite berries to the lemonade.
3. Pour into blender, mix until smooth. Add ice if desired for a slushy lemonade drink.
4. Garnish with a few berries on top.
5. Kick your feet up in your beautiful hammock and enjoy.
Watermelon Slush
1. Place ice cubes in blender to crush the ice.
2. Add 3 cups of watermelon. Add other berries or fruit, if desired, for variety.
3. Sweeten with sugar, honey, or your favorite sugar substitute (example: Splenda to cut back on calories).
4. Serve immediately while relaxing in your hammock.
Fresh Berry Iced Tea
1. Prepare sun tea. Use a large clear container (preferably glass), fill with water, add tea bag (1 bag for lighter tea and 2 bags for stronger tea), and set out in sun to brew. Keep an eye on it; try not to over brew the tea.
2. Chill the tea.
3. Add your favorite berries (raspberries, strawberries, etc.) and tea to a blender. Blend until smooth.
4. Serve over ice. Watch the sunset from your hammock with your refreshing iced tea.

Monsoon Rain and Your Hammock
Monsoon Weather is coming in the state of Arizona. Many other states across the United States deal with inclement weather. Regardless of the type of weather you are confronted with in your area, your hammock needs to be protected. Most hammocks are not cheap, and it would be a shame to allow the downpour of the monsoons or the beating heat of the sunny days to take a toll on your investment. Most hammocks have some type of weather resistant material, but if left out in the elements long enough the protective material won’t matter. Your hammock needs to be cared for to ensure that it will last for years to come.
1. Start by taking your hammock down if your will not be using it for an extended period of time. This will ensure that if there is weather coming, your hammock will be cared for. Put it in a convenient location so that it is easy to put back up when you want to relax.
2. If you have a covered porch or a deck where you can hang your hammock it won’t need to be taken down as often. It will be protected there and will only need to be taken down in the worst of the weather or at the end of the hammock season (when winter sets in).
